Run What Ya Brung

Santa Pod’s rip-roaring Run What Ya Brung is set to be a big-hitter at this year’s Race, Rock ’n’ Ride event, sponsored by Principal Insurance.

Supported by Fast Bikes magazine, the specialist competition of bike mania allows you to challenge your two-wheel machine in the ultimate test as you hit the quarter-mile strip for your very own full throttle action! Whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned expert with a retro classic or modified turbo-charger, RWYB allows you to test your time and see what your bike is made of.

At our weekend-long festival of motorcycling (May 20-21) we’re offering some of the cheapest and most accessible track time in the UK. Santa Pod’s raceway offers you the perfect opportunity to battle it out against your mates, prove your weapon of choice or simply try and set that all important new PB. For just £25 you’ll get unlimited runs, so as many as you can squeeze into one day!

With a performance printout after each run and competition entry just for taking part, RWYB offers a great chance to push your bike to the max in a safe and legal environment. The only speeding ticket heading your way will be your quarter-mile stats! You don’t have to apply for a race licence or own a superbike, most riders who come along will be racing on normal road bikes. Some participants may have pro-bikes or be pro themselves but don’t worry, you won’t be pitched against a 200mph Top Fuel Drag bike!

Trophies are on offer to the person that sets the quickest time in each of the following classes:

  • Class A – Up to 500cc
  • Class B – 501-750cc
  • Class C – 751-1000cc
  • Class D – Over 1000cc
  • Class X – Non road legal bikes (Including bikes on slicks)

Classes A-D are for road-legal bikes only and must run on UK road-legal tyres with full electrics. All bikes on slicks and with questionable road-legality will go into class X. It is your responsibility to ensure you’re in the correct class; anyone found to be running in the wrong class will be disqualified and not transferred to the correct one.

The RWYB competition will end at 4pm on Sunday or an hour before racing finishes if we’re running behind schedule – listen out to the commentary for announcements. All winners will be presented with trophies on the start line after racing so keep an ear out for your name being called.

Don’t miss your chance to walk away with some silverware tucked under your arm and earn those well-deserved bragging rights!
